Introduction
Two days ago, I returned from an experience that I know I will carry with me for the rest of my life.
It wasn’t just a trip.
It wasn’t just a program.
It was a life-changing encounter with God one that deepened my faith, strengthened my spirit, and reminded me of the power of endurance, motherhood, and divine covering.
My Journey Into the 100-Day Fast
I joined the Zion Prayer Movement Outreach back in November 2022.
At the time, my youngest son was just five months old. I had just given birth, and like many mothers, I was navigating a new season of life physically, emotionally, and spiritually.
My mom introduced me to the program, and from that moment, I committed to participating in the fasting and prayer journey.
This year marked my third time.
But this time… I knew it would be different.
Traveling to Nigeria for the Encounter
For the first time, I made the decision to travel all the way to Nigeria to attend the closing of the 100-day fast in person.
I brought my oldest son with me, not fully knowing what to expect but believing God had something special waiting for us.
The program ran from October 10th to October 12th.
And from day one, it was intense.
Day One: Faith in the Storm
The rain came down heavily.
We were advised ahead of time to come prepared with rain boots and umbrellas but nothing could truly prepare us for the experience.
At one point, the rain became so intense that walking was difficult. Many people struggled to continue.
But in the middle of it all… my son amazed me.
He didn’t complain.
He didn’t cry.
He didn’t ask to be carried.
He stood strong.
As a mother, that moment broke me in the best way. I was overwhelmed with gratitude. Watching him endure reminded me that strength is not just taught… it’s revealed.
We didn’t return to the hotel until around 11:30 PM that night. It was exhausting but deeply meaningful.
I truly believe God sent help to us that night. We were covered.
A Bonding Moment I’ll Never Forget
That night created a bond between me and my son that words can’t fully capture.
Despite the long hours, the rain, and the discomfort he stayed present, strong, and resilient.
It reminded me how blessed I am.
Motherhood comes with challenges, but moments like this are powerful reminders of God’s grace over my children.
Day Two: Reflection and Rest
Because we returned so late the first night, I stayed back at the hotel the next day and watched the program virtually.
My son stayed with family so I could rest and reflect.
Even from a distance, the presence was still powerful.
Day Three: Surrender in the Rain
The final day Sunday was unforgettable.
The rain came down even harder than before.
But this time, I approached it differently.
At one point, I stood in the rain for nearly 30 minutes with:
- No umbrella
- No raincoat
- No shoes
Completely soaked.
And yet… I felt peace.
Instead of resisting the rain, I embraced it.
I told myself:
“This is not just rain. These are showers of blessings.”
In that moment, I prayed deeply.
I stood in the gap for:
- My family
- My loved ones
- My friends
- Anyone going through challenges
I asked God to wash away:
- Delay
- Fear
- Procrastination
- Anything not aligned with His will for my life
And I meant every word.
A Life-Changing Encounter
This wasn’t just an event.
This was an encounter.
An experience that shifted my mindset, strengthened my faith, and reminded me of who I am—and whose I am.
Even now, days later, I keep replaying the moments in my mind.
I know I will never forget it.
Beyond the Program
After the encounter, we traveled back to Lagos and attended additional programs, including:
- Pregnancy and Awaiting Mothers Program
- Prophetic Wednesday Service
Being in that environment… it’s something you have to experience for yourself.
There is a grace.
There is a presence.
There is something undeniable.
Final Thoughts
I am beyond grateful.
Grateful for the journey.
Grateful for the strength.
Grateful for my sons.
And most of all… grateful to God for allowing me to experience something so powerful.
This is more than a story.
This is my testimony.
If this touched you in any way, share it with another mom or someone who needs encouragement.
And if you’ve ever had a moment where your faith was tested—but you came out stronger—I’d love to hear your story too.
